Andy Fickman, our Director of I Will Survive, is an award-winning director, writer, and producer working across film, television, theater, and digital. His feature film credits include She’s The Man (Paramount), Playing with Fire (Paramount), The Game Plan (Disney), Parental Guidance (Fox/Walden), Christmas Again (Disney+), Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 (Sony), Race to Witch Mountain (Disney), and You Again (Touchstone). Most recently, his horror film Don’t Turn Out the Lights premiered at ScreamFest UK and debuted in the top ten on Hulu, and the Buzzfeed romantic dramedy One True Loves. He also produced Anaconda (Sony) and Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse (Paramount). In television, Fickman directed and executive produced episodes of the Wizards of Waverly Place reboot series starring Selena Gomez. He also directed all episodes of Netflix’s The Crew, Kevin James’ stand-up special Never Don’t Give Up, and No Good Nick, starring Melissa Joan Hart and Sean Astin. He directed two seasons of Kevin Can Wait (CBS/Sony), episodes of Recovery Road, The Odd Couple, Hellcats, Austin and Ally, Aliens in America, and four seasons of Emmy-winning Liv and Maddie (Disney Channel). For the stage, Fickman is currently directing and producing multiple projects, including the new smash hit 13 GOING ON 30: THE MUSICAL, Disney’s FREAKY FRIDAY, and HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL, which is currently running at New World Stages in New York, having broken all the box office records there. This is after Heathers made its London debut at Theatre Royal Haymarket in 2018, followed by a long-running engagement at The Other Palace until 2023, three successful UK and Ireland tours and a return to the West End in 2024. Heathers will return to the West End for the fourth time in 2026, as well as launching in Australia and touring the UK again. Fickman also directed and produced Roku’s stage capture of Heathers. Additionally, Fickman recently directed the play Parents In Chains, written by Emmy winner Jay Martel and starring Jason Alexander, Jane Lynch, and Kristen Bell. He directed and produced Reefer Madness: The Musical for Showtime, which premiered at Sundance, won an Emmy, and earned three nominations. Other stage credits include Jewtopia and Sneaux!, both earning him LA Weekly’s Best Director award.
